The controversy sparked after Kunickaa reacted to Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike amid the CJP protests, criticising the government.
Several social media users called her out, even calling her ‘Saste flop actor’. Meanwhile, others brought her past relationship controversy.
The controversy further escalated after another X user posted a screenshot of Kunickaa's alleged past relationship with Kumar Sanu and called her a "home wrecker.” X users accused her of having an affair with the singer while he was still married.

On the work front, Kunickaa most recently participated in Colors TV's reality show Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Salman Khan.
