OnePlus Turbo 6, 6V launching on Jan 8 with massive 9,000mAh battery and ultra-slim camera bump: Full details

OnePlus is gearing up to launch the new Turbo series in China. The new lineup will include two phones - the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V. The Chinese phonemaker is targeting the Turbo series at users who want the best performance at an affordable price point. Now, OnePlus has teased that both phones will pack large batteries, with slim camera modules.

OnePlus Turbo 6 battery

According to OnePlus, the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V will pack massive 9,000mAh silicon carbon batteries, making these the largest batteries ever on any OnePlus phone. To top it off, you can expect up to 80W fast charging support.

Over the years, camera modules on smartphones have gotten bigger, protruding out of the frame of the device. This usually causes a device to wobble when kept on a flat surface. Now, OnePlus is addressing this concern with the Turbo series. According to the company, the Turbo 6 will feature an ultra-slim camera bump, measuring at just 1.7mm. The OnePlus Turbo 6V will also likely pack a similarly thin camera island.

The Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V share many design cues, featuring flat frames with gentle curves at the edges. Though both phones may use plastic frames and backplates to save costs.

OnePlus Turbo series, here is what we know

The Turbo series will focus on performance. The OnePlus Turbo 6 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, while the Turbo 6V will likely opt for the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Both models are tipped to use 1.5K AMOLED displays, but the Turbo 6 has a 165Hz refresh rate, compared to the Turbo 6V's 144Hz panel.

The OnePlus Turbo 6 and 6V are expected to feature dual rear camera setups. Both devices will likely pack a 50-megapixel main and an 8-megapixel ultrawide, paired with a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.

On the durability front, the OnePlus Turbo 6 is expected to come with IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

OnePlus Turbo series launch and expected price

The Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V will launch in China on January 8, 2026, at 7 pm local time (4:30 pm IST). Rumours suggest OnePlus may bring the two phones in India under the Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 names.

There is little information available regarding the pricing for the Turbo series. For context, the OnePlus Nord 5 was launched in India at Rs 29,999.OnePlus has officially confirmed the launch of its new Turbo 6 series in China on January 8, 2026.1 This new performance-oriented lineup consists of two models: the OnePlus Turbo 6 and the OnePlus Turbo 6V.2

The series is making waves primarily for its massive battery capacity and a design that manages to stay slim despite the hardware.3

The "Battery Supernova"

Design and Display

  • Ultra-Slim Camera Bump: Despite the massive battery, OnePlus has engineered an "ultra-slim" camera module that measures just 1.7mm in thickness, significantly reducing the "wobble" when placed on flat surfaces.7

  • Displays: * Turbo 6: 1.5K AMOLED display with a flagship-level 165Hz refresh rate.8

    • Turbo 6V: 6.8-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.9

India Availability (Nord Rebranding?)

While the January 8 launch is for China, multiple reports suggest these devices will arrive in India and global markets under the Nord series.11

  • The Turbo 6 is rumored to launch as the OnePlus Nord 6.

  • The Turbo 6V may debut as the OnePlus Nord CE 6.12

However, there is some debate among leakers whether the massive 9,000mAh battery will make it to the Indian units or if it will be scaled back to around 6,000–7,000mAh to comply with local weight and safety preferences.

Would you like me to keep an eye on the official pricing once they launch on January 8?
